A Managing Director Cabin

A project for TNEB Tamil Nadu

Tools used for project:

  • Unreal Engine
  • Autodesk Maya

The MD room should combine functionality with elegance, featuring a spacious desk, high-end ergonomic seating, and thoughtful accessories. A balance of warm, neutral tones with rich accents gives the room a polished and welcoming atmosphere, while subtle technology integration ensures the space remains modern and efficient.

Furniture:

  • Executive Desk:
    • A large, solid wood or high-quality lacquered desk with a minimalist design. The desk should feature ample space for work, with a polished finish that complements the room’s decor.
    • The desk could have an integrated storage solution (e.g., drawers or cabinets) to keep the space organized and clutter-free.
  • Chair:
    • An ergonomic, luxury executive chair with a modern design, upholstered in leather or high-quality fabric, ensuring comfort and support for long hours.
  • Seating Area:
    • A small seating area for meetings or casual discussions, consisting of two to four plush armchairs or a sofa in a complementary color palette.
    • A small coffee table with a high-end finish, like glass or polished wood, placed centrally.

 Walls and Décor:

  • Artwork:
    • Framed, abstract art or high-quality photography can add a personal touch while keeping the room professional. It should be modern and not overly flashy.
  • Feature Wall:
    • Consider a feature wall with a textured finish or wall panels. A dark wood paneling or a bold, yet sophisticated color (like navy blue or charcoal) could add depth.
  • Shelving/Storage:
    • Custom-built shelving units or cabinets for storing books, awards, or important documents, designed in a way that doesn't overwhelm the space. A combination of open shelves for decor and closed storage for privacy.

 Lighting:

  • Ambient Lighting:

    • Soft, warm lighting to create a welcoming atmosphere. Recessed lighting in the ceiling, or track lights with dimming options, will provide the flexibility to adjust the lighting as needed.
  • Task Lighting:

    • A modern desk lamp with adjustable brightness for reading or working.
  • Accent Lighting:

    • Use elegant floor lamps or table lamps with sleek designs to add a touch of luxury. Consider having LED strip lighting along the baseboards or beneath shelves to create an ambient glow.

 Flooring:

  • Carpet or Hardwood:
    • A plush area rug under the seating area or desk, in a neutral tone or geometric pattern, complements the overall décor.
    • Alternatively, polished hardwood or luxury vinyl flooring with a matte finish works well for a clean, professional look.

Technology:

  • Integrated Technology:
    • The room should be equipped with modern tech features, such as a large flat-screen monitor or an interactive whiteboard for presentations.
    • A smart sound system or conference call system, built into the room’s design, ensures seamless virtual meetings.

 Color Scheme:

  • Neutral tones should dominate the space. Consider a mix of:
    • Warm neutrals: Taupes, light grays, and whites for walls and major furniture.
    • Rich accent colors: Deep blue, burgundy, or forest green for the upholstery, curtains, or rugs.

Window Treatments:

  • Curtains or Blinds:
    • Luxurious, thick curtains in neutral or dark tones for added privacy. If the room has a beautiful view, opt for sleek, modern blinds or sheer curtains that still allow natural light to filter in.

 Accessories:

  • Personal Touches:
    • Elegant accessories like a crystal vase, designer pen holder, or a high-quality globe or sculpture for a sophisticated look.
  • Greenery:
    • Adding a couple of indoor plants in stylish pots or vases can bring life to the room without overwhelming the design.
